Call Special Session

ROB|ARCH2026 Special Session

Call for Work‑in‑Progress, Student Work & Designed Projects

As part of the ROB|ARCH 2026 conference, we invite the community to contribute to the Special Session, a dedicated platform for work‑in‑progress research, artistic or experimental work, student projects, and design explorations that would benefit from peer discussion but are not intended for inclusion in the conference proceedings.

Continuing the ROB|ARCH tradition, the Special Session celebrates emerging ideas, speculative directions, and innovative prototypes that advance discourse within robotic fabrication for architecture, design and fabrication, in relation to the conference theme Detangling Dependencies.

Submission Format

To be considered for the special session, authors should submit both of the bellow:

  • PdF Document containing a maximum of 4‑pages, with Images, diagrams, or visual documentation of the project, and a written project description of up to 1000 words + 6 images max.
  • Poster one A0 poster following the template.
  • Register for the conference upon acceptance

Submissions should clearly communicate the project’s aims, methods, ongoing development, and relevance to the ROB|ARCH 2026 themes. All submissions must be uploaded through EasyChair and follow the provided templates.

Submissions will be reviewed by the ROB|ARCH 2026 Scientific Committee and evaluated based on novelty, originality, clarity and relevance to conference theme. As this session welcomes exploratory, theoretical and developing work, evaluations will prioritize conceptual value, insight, and future potential over completeness.

Authors of accepted works will present their posters during a Special Session scheduled for Wednesday, 26 August 2026, which will precede the opening reception. Posters will be exhibited at the venue throughout the conference.

Publication

Following the conference, all accepted Special Session projects will be published in an open access digital publication with assigned DOI, ensuring the visibility and long-term archiving of the work. Authors will retain copyright and may further develop the work for future publication.
